Merry Fitmas!!

We made it! The last blast/ morning fitness class before the Christmas holidays is now complete and it was such a joy to share it with the amazing SWEATsisters!

This Fri-YAY, the workout really felt like a final push and the full body burn definitely set in much sooner than usual. Fatigue amongst the group was evident but nevertheless, we got behind each other and ensured it was a productive session that still fulfilled each of our requirements: plenty of physical challenge, pools of sweat, happy hormone release, positive community vibes and we had a Christmas sing-a-long too!

It may have been the last SWEAT of the year but these girls know that it’s crucial to keep rewarding the body with exercise all year round. It’s no surprise that the holidays are always greatly anticipated. Not only can we dedicate precious time to recharging the batteries, we also gain some breathing room to reflect on the breadth of our experiences and celebrate our many accomplishments. Away from the everyday mundane, we’re also able to pursue and relish the things in life that we are genuinely passionate about, which does wonders for our sense of renewed energy, creativity and motivation.

Unfortunately, the holiday often whizzes us by far too quickly and before we know it we are back to reality and craving the next opportunity to break free – a phenomenon that is so accurately summarised by these famous song lyrics: ‘you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.’

Try to avoid this by appreciating the space and freedom provided by the holidays in the moment – and, every moment.
