Shaping Up Nicely With Fri-YAY Fitness

Fri-YAYs are all about fun fitness and getting excited about a bit of weekend freedom and frolicking with friends. SWEAT was a totally killer workout this morning, which demanded effort from every single muscle and energy system in the body. It was also such a pleasure to welcome new faces to the group (and in the penultimate session of the year!). Hopefully nobody has been frightened away – the girls absolutely smashed it!

Speaking of friends, we were missing a few of our regulars today and below is an ode to my very own SWEAT/ workout/ general life partner in crime, Miss Nixon, who’s away in the UK on official business….we missed you Nix!!

Our 45 minute blast on a Friday AM may not be enough time to take the intensity level down to a relaxing yoga stretch but here’s a few of our favourite poses, which we promise to return to, when a tough HIIT session is not on the cards:

Listening to the body, varying sessions, allowing fun, sharing with friends, working hard and getting a sweat on are all key ingredients in maintaining a regular and effective training regime. Real changes, whether that involves physical, aesthetic or mental adaptations, require consistency, perseverance and patience.

If you can keep at it when the going gets tough and stay firmly focused on the path towards your fitness goals, it won’t be long before you are shaping up nicely – just like our SWEATsisters.
